Jon Mullender likes nothing more than to see a fence go up -- and go up right. But even more than seeing the results of his hard work and planning, the best reward Mullender could ever have is hearing the pride and satisfaction in his customer’s praise. Customer happiness. That’s a very compelling driver for the people-oriented president of Summit Fence Supply, LLC.

Located in Northeast Ohio, Summit Fence Supply sells fencing supplies and services all across the US. Mullender has been in the fencing business for 15 years. He taught high school for 13 years and following that, worked as an office manager, web designer and top sales agent for another fence company. After seeing some of the mistakes typical to the business, Mullender decided to start his own company in 2006.

Of singular importance to his own mode of operation, he wanted a fencing company where the customer was the most important part of business, bar none. "I am committed to people and God, and I believe that each person has unique needs, no matter what service or product they’re buying. It’s my privilege to help them solve the needs pertaining to fencing whether it be property beautification, security, privacy or even just a touch of class around a certain pet project they are working on," Mullender explains.

Since starting Summit Fence Supply, Mullender has won several government jobs with the federal wildlife bureau and has undertaken large contracts with condo development associations as far away as California. "My goal is not always to be the lowest price one can find on the Internet, but to provide the highest and greatest customer service," he explains.

Today Mullender has contacts with top fence manufacturers all over the country. He is an expert in materials, enabling him to excel at the selection process.
